Yeah, life isn't fair, and some people end up in a pretty tight spot, but it bothers me when people complain about where they are in life because of poor choices: "I'm going to get a Master's in Art History in New Outer Elbonia and then gripe when I can't find a job."

I do feel bad for people that get in a bind because of medical conditions that they can't control (cancer, MS, etc.).

That's great that you are responsible. Most people that are don't have to brag about it though. Many people are just like you but weren't lucky enough to find a job fast enough to stay afloat or had other obstacles in the way. The irresponsible people are the exception, not the rule. It's funny how the 1% has this uncanny ability to make the rest of the country fight amongst themselves while they laugh all the way to the bank. We are all proud that we work hard but the system is broken and if you can't realize that, you are to caught up in your middle class apathy.

Virtual Balboa-

Your input is noted.

I do not think luck had much to do with the fact that I found a job so quickly. I do think that God had a hand in it. I also think that hard work had a hand in it, too. It never once crossed my mind to go camp out on the capitol steps to protest that life isn't fair or something.

My point to this post was that if you make poor choices (a degree in Disgruntled Women's Studies, a bad ARM loan, moving to NYC where the cost of living is through the roof), expect poor results. The world doesn't owe you anything.
